Domaine de la Vougeraie 'Musigny' Grand Cru 2006
The 2006 Domaine de la Vougeraie 'Musigny' Grand Cru is an exceptionally rare and refined expression of one of Burgundy’s most hallowed terroirs. Domaine de la Vougeraie owns just 0.21 hectares in Musigny, making this one of their most exclusive and sought-after wines.
Crafted from vines planted between 1970 and 1989, this wine is the result of biodynamic farming, rigorous hand-sorting, and minimal intervention to preserve the site’s natural character. The 2006 vintage was marked by a warm summer, balanced by a cooler September, leading to a wine that combines Musigny's signature elegance with a depth of dark fruit, floral perfume, and fine-grained tannins. Aged in 50% new French oak, it has developed remarkable complexity and aging potential.
Appearance: Deep ruby with garnet reflections.
Nose: Dark berries, violets, and subtle earthy undertones.
Palate: Elegant and refined, with layers of black cherry, blackberry, and hints of licorice, supported by fine tannins and a persistent finish.
