Egly-Ouriet Brut Tradition Grand Cru NV
Non-vintage in name only, the Brut Tradition (now often labelled simply "Brut") is Egly-Ouriet's house style distilled into an entry point that outperforms many grandes marques' top cuvées. Each release is built around a recent base vintage with roughly half reserve wine, aged a minimum of 48 months on lees before disgorgement, giving real maturity and complexity for a "non-vintage" release.
Colour :
Golden hue with amber highlights and a fine, persistent mousse.
Nose :
Immediate complexity: ripe cherry, warm brioche, floral lift and a gentle oak-derived spice from barrel ageing.
Palate :
Silky and vinous, with precise, chiselled acidity (no malolactic fermentation) carrying through to a long finish of toasted hazelnut and candied citrus.
