Massolino Barolo Vigna Rionda Riserva 2014
The 2014 Massolino Barolo Vigna Rionda Riserva is a refined and deeply expressive wine from one of Serralunga d’Alba’s most celebrated vineyards. The cooler, more challenging conditions of the 2014 vintage resulted in lower yields and heightened aromatic precision, producing a Barolo of elegance, tension, and remarkable balance.
Made from 100% Nebbiolo sourced exclusively from the historic Vigna Rionda cru, the wine underwent traditional long fermentation and extended aging in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by additional bottle maturation prior to release. This patient approach allows the wine’s complexity and structure to unfold while preserving freshness and site expression.
Appearance:
Deep garnet with subtle amber tones at the rim.
Nose:
Perfumed aromas of dried rose, red cherry, blood orange, and wild berries, layered with notes of iron, leather, and earthy spice.
Palate:
Focused and elegant, offering flavors of sour cherry, cranberry, and raspberry framed by firm, finely textured tannins and vibrant acidity. The finish is long, savory, and mineral-driven, highlighting the finesse of the vintage and the pedigree of Vigna Rionda.
