McHenry Hohnen 'Chloé' Rosé 2024
A very pale Mourvèdre rosé from biodynamic Hazel’s Vineyard, the 2024 Chloé is a distinctly Provençal‑style wine from McHenry Hohnen. Hand‑picked in the early morning, fruit is gently whole‑berry pressed to stainless steel, with only the finest juice selected. Fermented slowly, then aged six months on fine lees for textural complexity without overt oak. Expect layered flavours of wild strawberry, raspberry, nectarine, aromatic orange zest and saline minerality, with a persistent, refreshing drive. It’s powerfully flavoured yet elegant, showing terroir at its finest.
Appearance
Extremely pale salmon‑pink, almost translucent, delivering a light and refined visual impression.
Nose
Perfumed aromas of star jasmine, wet stone minerality, wild strawberry and pastry nuances, presenting a floral and lifted bouquet typical of premium Mourvèdre rosé.
Palate
Creamy and textured with juicy nectarine and citrus zest, bright acidity and a racy finish. Fine tannic grip and saline complexity give definition and persistence.
