Nestled in the heart of Yountville, Napa Valley, the State Ranch vineyard is renowned for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The 2019 vintage from Nickel & Nickel exemplifies the winery's dedication to crafting single-vineyard, single-varietal wines that capture the essence of their unique terroirs.

Located on the northeastern side of Yountville, the vineyard benefits from rocky, well-drained loam soils and abundant sun exposure, allowing for slow, even ripening. The 2019 growing season was marked by a dry winter and spring, followed by a temperate summer with few heat spikes. This combination resulted in smaller berries with concentrated flavours, creating a Cabernet of remarkable depth and complexity.

To preserve the vineyard's distinct character, the wine is vinified using gentle extraction techniques, fermented in stainless steel to retain purity of fruit, and aged in French oak barrels to enhance structure and nuance. The result is a wine that beautifully expresses both the power and finesse of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
