Standish The Standish Shiraz 2018

The 2018 Standish is the flagship of the range, grown on the Laycock Family Vineyard in the western Barossa parish of Greenock. It embodies Dan Standish's founding philosophy of fruit purity and transparency of site - deep in colour, with ripe blackberry, dark plum and black cherry, savoury Barossa herb notes and full-bodied, finely structured tannins.

Appearance:
Deep garnet-ruby, showing a graceful, developing brick-toned rim.

Nose:
Ripe blackberry, dark plum and black cherry, layered with sage, mocha and a warm, savoury earthiness.

Palate:
Full-bodied and richly structured, with dense dark fruit, fine but firm tannins and a savoury herbal thread woven through the mid-palate.

Finish:
Very long and powerful, closing on dark spice, sage and lingering black fruit.
