Situated in the heart of Champagne near Épernay, Pol Roger’s NV Brut Magnum is a classic expression of house style, a balanced blend of the three traditional Champenois grapes (Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay), sourced from multiple crus across the region and matured in deep, cool chalk cellars. The magnum format enhances its potential for graceful development and extra depth of flavour over time.
Pale gold with shimmering straw-hued highlights, crowned by a fine and persistent mousse of delicate bubbles that rise elegantly and steadily a hallmark of Pol Roger’s cellar-grown finesse.
An inviting and refined bouquet: fresh green apple and pear mingle with citrus zest and white-flower florals, complemented by warm pastry-like aromas of brioche and lightly toasted almond. Underlying notes of honeyed beeswax and subtle minerality hint at the chalky terroir from which the grapes are drawn.
Crisp, buoyant and elegantly textured. Flavours of lemon peel, citrus blossom, white peach and pear combine with a creamy lees-derived richness toasted brioche crust, almond, a trace of hazelnut and soft honey. The acidity is lively but well integrated, guiding the palate through a smooth mid-palate, toward a refined, lingering finish with mineral clarity and gentle salinity.
This magnum of Pol Roger NV Brut (Réserve) is a celebration of balance, finesse and tradition ideal as an apéritif or paired with seafood, shellfish, light poultry, or creamy cheeses. The larger format suggests enhanced cellar potential: you could enjoy its vibrancy now, or allow time in bottle for deeper complexity, subtle toasty maturity and even greater aromatic harmony.
