Standish Lamella Shiraz 2021

The 2021 Lamella Shiraz is sourced from the old-vine Stonegarden Vineyard in the Eden Valley, planted in the late 1800s. Hand-picked and open-fermented, then matured in French oak, it shows dark berry fruit, warm baking spice and fine, savoury tannins - a pure, high-altitude expression of Eden Valley Shiraz and the most approachable entry point into the Standish range.

Appearance:
Deep ruby with a garnet edge, showing the early signs of graceful development.

Nose:
Dark plum and blackberry lead, layered with dried rose petal, clove and a whisper of eucalyptus.

Palate:
Medium to full-bodied, with velvety dark fruit, a thread of mocha oak spice and fine, sandy tannins that keep the wine buoyant rather than heavy.

Finish:
Long and warm, closing on savoury spice and a lingering note of dark cherry.
