A muscular, richly textured single-region Chardonnay from the gravelly soils of the Wilyabrup Valley, regarded as a benchmark for Margaret River Chardonnay.

Appearance:
Pale straw with a faint green tinge.

Nose:
Orchard fruit - apricot, peach and nectarine - combined with grapefruit and toasty French oak.

Palate:
Full and powerful, mirroring the nose with layered stone-fruit flavour, chalky texture and bright natural acidity carrying a long finish.

Woodlands Wines
Woodlands is a family-owned Margaret River winery established in 1973 by David and Heather Watson, among the first five vineyards planted in the region. Now run by sons Andrew and Stuart Watson, the estate farms the original Woodlands Vineyard on Caves Road and the Woodlands Brook Vineyard (added 2007/08), both in the Wilyabrup Valley subregion, using dry-grown, low-intervention and organically certified viticulture. Woodlands is best known for cabernet-based reds that regularly rival top Bordeaux in blind tastings, alongside acclaimed single-vineyard Chardonnay.
